Starting January 1, 2013, Washington's minimum wage will increase by 15 cents to $9.19 per hour, the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries announced.

Washington adjusts its minimum wage each year to keep pace with the rate of inflation, as measured by the change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers. Nine other states also annually adjust their minimum wages based on the rate of inflation.
