The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development has announced that a scheduled increase in the state's minimum wage will take effect February 24, 2015.

Although a ballot measure passed in November had called for the minimum wage increase to take effect on January 1, 2015, in accordance with the Alaska Constitution, the effective date is 90 days after the November 26 certification of election results by the Alaska Division of Elections.

The Minimum Wage: Alaska section of the Employment Law Manual, an entry in the Legal Timetable, and the Minimum Wage Rates by State and Municipality chart have all been updated as a result.
