Two state sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated with information about recent rulings that apply to employers with tipped employees.

The Minimum Wage: Minnesota > Deductions for Lost, Stolen or Damaged Property and for Employee Debts section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated to reflect a recent ruling from the Supreme Court of Minnesota that restrictions on deductions from an employee's wages for lost, stolen or damaged property, or to recover any amount owed by the employer to the employee, apply to gratuities as well as hourly pay.

The Minimum Wage: Nevada > Credit for Tipped Employees section of the Employment Law Manual has been updated to reflect a recent ruling from the Nevada Supreme Court that an employer may require employees to pool their tips with other employees of a different rank, as long as the employer does not keep any of the tips from the pool.
