Illinois Content Updated to Reflect New Workplace Violence Prevention Act

The Illinois Employee Handbooks-Work Rules- Employee Conduct and Risk Management - Health, Safety, Security > Workplace Security sections of the Employment Law Manual have been updated to include the Workplace Violence Prevention Act, which permits Illinois employers to protect their workplaces by allowing them to seek a restraining order against an individual or an employee who has committed an unlawful act of violence or made a credible threat of violence against other employees or a workplace. The law takes effect January 1, 2014.
