West Virginia has enacted the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which prohibits discrimination and harassment against women affected by pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions in the workplace. It also requires employers to provide pregnant workers with reasonable accommodations. The Act takes effect on June 4, 2014.

The West Virginia EEO - Discrimination, EEO - Harassment, Terms of Employment and Performance Appraisals sections of the Employment Law Manual and the EEO Protected Classes by State and Municipality chart have been updated to reflect the new law.
