Montana Passes Social Media Privacy Law: Employment Law Manual, Quick Reference Chart Updated

Montana has enacted a social media privacy law prohibiting an employer from requesting or requiring that an employee or applicant disclose a username or password to his or her personal social medial account, access a personal social media account in the employer's presence or divulge any information contained on a social media account. The law took effect April 23, 2015.
