California Employers: Prepare Now for January 1 Changes to Family Leave Law, Minimum Wage and More

This year, the California legislature was kept busy passing legislation in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a recession and wildfires that devasted the state. Legislators also managed to squeeze in some significant new employment laws that will take effect on January 1, 2021.
Paid and unpaid leave, training and workplace safety are just some of the topics covered. Numerous changes to minimum wage rates, at both the state and local level, are coming as well.
